About me

Inventor.

Hey! I'm Gino Tubaro, an Argentine inventor passionate about using technology to create innovative solutions that improve people's lives. I have distributed more than 3500 free prosthetics for hands and arms with my team at Atomic Lab using 3D printers, which has had a significant impact on the lives of many individuals. My goal is always to make prosthetics accessible for free, tailoring them to the needs of each person. I also share my knowledge and experience through talks and workshops, inspiring others to use technology to solve problems and improve the quality of life. I am grateful for national and international recognition and will continue to innovate and help those who need it most.

My passion

Atomic Lab

Atomic Lab is an organization focused on improving the quality of life through technological solutions, notably providing personalized 3D-printed prosthetics for free since 2011 to those facing accessibility challenges. We have donated over 3500 3D prosthetics and garnered over 150,000 downloads, with a presence in over 45 countries. Over the years, we have formed alliances with internationally renowned companies. Additionally, we have developed 3D printing educational programs, including initiatives in Argentine prisons, achieving a positive impact on participants' lives and contributing to the reduction of recidivism. Numerous recognitions, such as the mention by Barack Obama, among others, testify to our outstanding work and positive impact on society.

Limbs Project - Transforming kids into superheroes.

We created the first online platform for requesting 3D-printed prosthetics virtually, easily, and quickly. Accessible from anywhere in the world, with a photo of the person's stump, we can generate a file for an ambassador to print. More information at the link!

Design of 3D printed prosthetic

In 2011, I designed a prosthetic that changed the lives of over 150,000 people worldwide, free of charge. The design evolved year after year, finding through user research the right balance between printability, ergonomics, morphology, and simplicity of repair, all while embracing the cool factor of being like superheroes.

3D Recycling machine - REMAKER

A compact machine to promote bottle recycling by turning them into 3D printing filament, with WiFi connectivity and an online platform to simplify the process. For the electronics, the PCB was designed and produced using a CNC. The platform runs on an ESP32.

3D Printed Orthoses

We designed a 3D-printed orthosis. Involving the thermoforming and 3D printing process, we increased the strength of the components so that a closed hand could reopen with the 'artificial' tendons.

COVID19 Faceshield

I designed the first mask that could be printed in less than 10 minutes with home printers. Over 50,000 were donated, and it was downloaded more than 200,000 times worldwide, free and open-source.

Argentinaton

In 2018, I designed and built the first solar-powered 3D printer mounted on a van that could print at speeds exceeding 120 km/h. With 'La Manoneta,' we toured Argentina twice (over 60,000 km), delivering prosthetics to every house that requested them. We produced a documentary series nominated for the Emmy Awards ('A Thousand Hands for Argentina'). We collaborated closely with Ford and Telecom.
